The Sustainable Highways Self-Evaluation Tool, currently available in beta form, is a collection of best practices that agencies can use to self-evaluate the performance of their projects and programs to determine a sustainability score in three categories: system planning, project development, and operations and maintenance. The report describes a scanning study of Europe that focused on identifying best practices and processes designed to help assure bridge safety and serviceability. The scan team gathered information on safety and serviceability practices and technologies related to design, construction, and operations of bridges.
