CONTRIBUTING AUTHORSl Mike Bartholomew is the technology director, North American bridges, for CH2M in Corvallis, Ore. He is a member of fib Commission 8, Durability, and is the subject matter team leader for the SHRP2 project R19A Implementation Action Program on service life design. Dr. Oguzhan Bayrak is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Bayrak received the University of Texas System Board of Regents' outstanding teaching award in 2012 and was inducted into the university's Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2014. Reggie Holt is a senior structural engineer at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and manages the concrete bridge program at FHWA headquarters in Washington, D.C. Dr. Brian Kozy is the leader of the structures engineering team for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) at the FHWA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He is responsible for national policy and guidance on bridge design and analysis. Emily Lorenz is an independent consultant in the areas of life cycle assessment; environmental product declarations; product category rules; and sustainability rating systems, standards, and codes. Dr. Dennis R. Mertz is professor of civil engineering at the University of Delaware. Formerly with Modjeski and Masters Inc. when the LRFD Specifications were first written, he has continued to be actively involved in their development.
